Remember that Dove Evolution spot that showed how images are manipulated? Well, the fine folks in the British Parliament want it to stop. Right now.
From giving Keira Knightley a little more decolletage to singlehandedly reversing the ravages of time for Twiggy, politicos in the U.K. are beginning to realize just how much manipulation goes into the average ad. One idea being floated is a disclaimer with each ad that explicitly states that the images have been altered and modified.
So, I guess along with the warnings about cigarettes, alcohol, fast food, high speed, herbal medcications, riding without a helmet, eating spicy food, teasing bears and staying behind the yellow line, we need to be told that images are not always truthful.
Go figure.
