
It's a given that many images used in marketing materials are photoshopped. Usually they're done to enhance or otherwise improve the objects in the image. Sometimes they don't.
The most recent disaster to hit the internets is Ralph Lauren, a photoshopped image that is on the grotesque side, and as an added bonus, threats of legal action combined with takedown notices against two sites that have reproduced and commented on the image.
So, instead of admitting that it was a mistake, performing a small mea culpa and putting the whole thing to rest, they've decided to light a big fire and invite everyone over.
Brilliant.
I won't bother commenting on the use of photoshop to promote unhealthy body-image stereotypes or the like, nope, not me.
