In comfort.
You've got new products to sell. You've got to stand out.
And you have technology on your side.
Toshiba is promoting it's new areas of innovation and is doing it in a very interesting way. They're sending a chair to the very edge of space and then bringing it back to earth.
The Space Chair ad campaign is promoting the new 2010 REGZA SV LCD TV series. The campaign will later expand to include a second spot for the Satellite T Series laptops. The ad follows the voyage of "an ordinary living room chair" to the edge of space before falling back to earth.
- A helium balloon lifted the chair and a Toshiba IK-HR1S ultra-compact 1080i camera to a height of 98,268 feet above ground
- Federal regulations required the weight of the rig be less than four pounds
- The chair is made of balsa wood and cost about $5,000
- The rig was launched in Nevada's Black Rock desert
- The chair took 83 minutes to reach 98,268 feet and 24 minutes to return to earth
